James Salter
Still Such: An Elegy with
a Photograph by Duane Michals

Still Such, originally written in 1988, set out to capture an entire lifetime in a few sentences. In its final form, James Salter has written an elegy of obsessions and encounters, filled with the fleeting memories of events that mark the transitions of a life, all seen in the familiar locales of a changing New York City.

This edition is printed in six-color offset by The Stinehour Press, Lunenburg, Vermont under the supervision of Jerry Kelly. A photograph of James Salter by Duane Michals is printed as a 300-line duotone. The text is set in Adobe Sabon with design and typography by Stephen Doyle. Deluxe and Special Editions are on Rives BFK paper with Fabriano Ingres endpapers. Binding and slipcases are by Judi W. Conant. Slipcases are wrapped in hand-marbled papers. 24 pages, 9 x 6 inches.
